flowlog - tracking where my time actually goes
Date : 19-06-2025
okay so i have a problem where i'll sit down to work, blink, and suddenly its 6 hours later and i have NO idea what i actually did. so i built Flowlog (it started life as "moodift" before i renamed it), a beautifully simple productivity app thats really about a better way of living. it tracks your daily tasks, helps you build habits, has a focus timer, AND it logs how you FEEL while you do it. built it right after starting ossint, been a busy june
web dev is such a different world from löve. the dom is nothing like drawing to a canvas, and chrome extension apis have their own whole weirdness with permissions and message passing and storage. took some getting used to. but the payoff is huge, you build a thing and anyone can just install it, no "download this 200mb löve build" friction. instant reach
what i like about flowlog is its the classic "build the thing you personally need" project. i wasnt building it for hypothetical users, i was building it because I wanted to know why my days evaporate AND why some days feel great and others dont. thats why i baked mood into it, journaling, mood insights, themes that shift with your state of mind, and made it work fully offline so it respects your rhythm instead of pinging you constantly. its meant to be your own little space to grow and reflect and flow through the day. gonna keep iterating on this one
