made a game for my birthday to say thank you - gratitude quest

okay this one is close to my heart. for my birthday this year i didnt want gifts really, i wanted to make something FOR the people who got me here. so i built Gratitude Quest, a little game made for everyone whos helped me through my whole journey learning LÖVE and game dev. its basically a thank you letter you can play

when i look back at how i got from making roblox obbies on a wheezing laptop to building compilers and physics engines, none of it happened in a vacuum. the löve community answered my dumb questions, people tested my broken builds, friends kept me going when projects felt impossible, hackclub gave me a place to belong. i owe a genuinely embarrassing amount to other people and it felt right to put that into the thing i know how to do best, which is making a game

theres something really nice about using your craft to express gratitude instead of just shipping another project for stars or a leaderboard. i spend so much of my time heads-down building, and this was a moment to look up and go "wait, all these people are part of this too." best birthday project i couldve asked for honestly. if you played it, or if youre one of the people it was for, thank you, seriously <3
