building a transit app for my own city - kochitransit

started KochiTransit, a mobile app for public transit here in kochi. this one's personal in a different way than my usual stuff because its about the city i actually live in. i built it with expo and react native, which is my first proper dive into real mobile app development instead of just desktop and web

civic tech is a whole different motivation. most of my projects are games or tools or experiments i build because theyre fun or interesting, but a transit app is about solving an actual annoyance that real people around me, including me, deal with every day. getting around kochi should be easier than it is, and if i can build something that helps even a little, thats a great use of the skills ive been stacking up for years. its also cool to point all this game-engine and ui obsession at something genuinely useful and local

going from löve and web frameworks to react native and expo was a good stretch. the mobile world has its own rules, navigation, native builds, platform quirks, and it made me appreciate how much i take for granted on desktop. but building something for MY city, in the place i grew up making games on a bad laptop, hits different. i want to do more stuff like this, tech thats rooted in where i actually am
