building my portfolio + a barebones physics toy
Date : 25-03-2025
busy couple of weeks. started putting together my personal website because i finally have enough projects that i want a place to show them off properly instead of just a messy github. its weird writing about yourself, like how do you summarize "i make games and tools and run a minecraft server and play guitar" without sounding all over the place lmao. but thats just... who i am, so im leaning into it
also made Physics-Engine, a lua based barebones interactive physics model. its different from the bigger physics engine i was building earlier, this one's stripped way down and INTERACTIVE, like you can just click and drag and throw stuff around and watch it behave. more of a toy/demo than a full engine but honestly those are the most fun to show people because you can just hand it to them and they immediately get it
i like having both going at once, the serious from-scratch engine AND the little interactive toy version. one teaches me the deep stuff, the other is instantly satisfying and demoable. thats kind of my whole rhythm as a maker, go deep on the hard thing but also ship small fun things so you dont burn out staring at collision math forever
