i think i accidentally started a whole genre of obby
Date : ~2020 (approx)
okay so this is kinda wild. i've been making these obbies where instead of normal jumps you have to abuse glitches to get past sections, like clipping through walls and edge-hopping and truss glitches and stuff. i called it a "Glitch Per Difficulty Chart" and put it out mostly for me and a few friends. and now other people are making their OWN glitch per difficulty charts?? like it became a whole format that other creators build in. my dumb little idea has a name and a shape and people copy it. that is the coolest feeling in the world honestly
the numbers are still frying my brain a little. the main chart is sitting at over a hundred and sixty THOUSAND visits. a hundred and sixty thousand people loaded a thing i made and jumped around in it. i also made a skill jump speedrun one with halo crates that's past a hundred thousand. i'm a kid on a bad laptop and somehow more people have played my roblox games than live in some towns. i don't fully know how to process that so mostly i just keep making more
i also spun up a group for it, JakO Obbyist Community, so the people who play and the people who wanna make their own charts have somewhere to hang. we're a few hundred deep now and it kinda runs itself, people post their maps and help each other with builds. i'm learning that the "community" part is almost as fun as the "make the thing" part. scripting the games, making the little music loops, designing the UI, AND herding a group of obby nerds. i wear a lot of hats on here and i love all of them
