doing obbies with a whole youtuber group (and getting obsessed with editing)
Date : 2021 (approx)
so besides making my own obbies, i'm part of this group of youtubers now and we do obbies together and collab on the channel. it's such a different vibe from building alone, you hop in a game with the crew, everyone's racing and failing and screaming at the same glitchy jump, and then it becomes a video. i've been doing a TON of these, it turns out the "play with friends and film it" loop is genuinely addictive and the roblox obby world is perfect for it because every course is basically built-in content
the part i did NOT expect to fall in love with is the editing. once i started cutting these videos together i went down a full rabbit hole, the cuts, the timing, the zooms, the little sound effects and text pops, syncing a moment to a beat so it hits right. it's the same feeling as getting code to work honestly, you fiddle with a thing over and over until suddenly it just CLICKS and feels good, except the payoff is a clip that makes people laugh instead of a program that runs. i've been on a straight-up editing spree, redoing my videos just to make them punchier
looking at it, roblox has quietly turned into this whole creative multi-tool for me. i script the games, i make the little music bits, i design the UI, i run a group, and now i'm filming and editing on top of it. it's not "just a game" to me, it's the first place i got to be every kind of maker at once, builder and musician and community guy and editor. i don't know if the youtube thing goes anywhere big but the skills are stacking up and every single one of them is fun
